'Extreme Beauty in Vogue' definitely captures some interesting and experimental looks, I found that many of the images in this book particularly, focus on using a lot of different textures. As well as using textures to create the looks, they seem to keep a very clean, white base, which reminded me of Elizabethan Make Up!

Here is an image that portrays the huge use of texture, it seems the look has been created using various types of food to create different facial features, I think this is really interesting and an abstract way of expressing creative thoughts. Another thing that I noticed was the Alabaster skin and the ruff around the neck, looks like Vogue have used some Elizabethan ideals when creating this look!

This picture really reminded me of our 'Base Application to the Extreme' workshop with Lara, during the workshop we applied egg whites to the face to create a typical Elizabethan looking white base. The use of the liquid in this photo particularly reminded me of this and the chalky look to the skin underneath this also.
