When Cleansing, Toning and Moisturising, as a Make Up Artist you always should be aware of different skin types and what products may work for them, and what products may not...here are a few cleansers that I think might be a good option for different types of skin!
Liz Earle- Cleanse and Polish:
Cleanse and Polish is a great all round cleanser for most skin types! Being a cream cleanser, loved for its list of all natural ingredients (including eucalyptus oil, cocoa butter and chamomile essential oil), it cleanses the face using no harsh chemicals and is amazing for removing stubborn traces of mascara! You massage the cleanser over the face, then remove using a warm cloth in small, circular motions. The great thing about this cleanser is that the muslin cloth exfoliates the skin extremely gently at the same time, creating a perfectly smooth and clean base. It is a little pricey at £8.50 for a 50ml pump and £13.25 for 100ml, but for a cleanser that gives great results and is suitable for all skin types, having regularly used this myself, I think it is more than worthy of purchasing for my make up kit!
This high street cleanser is great for dry skin, being a balm it keeps the skin hydrated while removing make up at the same time. It is enriched with multivitamins and minerals, so nourishes the skin, it is lightly perfumed so probably would not be best for anyone that has very sensitive skin. Again with this cleanser, you massage this over the face and remove with a warm flannel, the balm keeps the skin moisturised so when you start make up application, products are sure to not stick to dry patches on the skin. This product is £9, so fairly affordable, however maybe a little too expensive at the moment.
Boots Botanics Ultra Calm Cleansing Lotion and Simple Kind to Skin Cleansing Lotion:
Both of these cleansers are great for sensitive/ acne prone skin! The Boots Botanics Cleansing Lotion takes properties of marshmallow, which is known for its soothing properties, to ensure that make up is removed without drying or upsetting sensitive or oily skin and making the skin altogether, a lot calmer. This product costs £4.49 for 250ml so is one of the most affordable cleansers for our kits!
The Simple cleanser is known for its ability to gently cleanse skin because there are no harsh chemicals, or unnecessary ingredients. Simple also make sure that no perfume or colour go into their products, ensuring that the cleanser soothes the skin efficiently and doesn't give any adverse reactions. At £2.99 this is the most affordable cleanser for our kits, and as it is suitable for most skin types would definitely be a valuable addition!
